5 Ways To Get Active On Mother's Day

For many moms, the best Mother’s Day gift is spending some quality time with the kids. If you’re looking for something to do as a family for Mother’s Day this year, check out our list below for ideas on getting active together.

  1. Take a class at In-Shape
    Which class is your mom’s favorite? Stretching out in yoga together could be a great way to start her Mother’s Day. If the kids are too young for group fitness, we can watch them at the Kid Zone while she enjoys a BODYPUMP or Pilates class with a friend. We suggest following class with brunch at her favorite restaurant.
  2. Plan a hike together
    Pack some snacks or a picnic lunch and go on a hike! Whether you just “hike” out to a playground where the kids can play or take a day-long hike in the great outdoors, doing something special as a family could really make her Mother’s Day.
  3. Go swimming at the club
    May might technically be considered spring, but in California, it’s already warm enough for a pool day. If mom loves a day at the pool, head to the club and bring the swimsuits. If a pool day sounds more like work than vacay, offer to watch the kids while she spends some time relaxing at the pool.
  4. Try something new
    Since the weather is beautiful, try something new together like kayaking or paddle boarding.
  5. Bike + Dessert
    Go for a family bike ride to the local ice cream shop or another restaurant that serves a dessert mom loves. After a nice bike ride, the treats will taste even better.
