Austin Moore | Cancer Survivor
All throughout October, In-Shape is committed to fighting cancer, bringing awareness to the community and sharing inspiring stories.
This is Patrick’s story
Patrick Moore joined In-Shape in 2015 and is currently a Regional Fitness Manager at In-Shape in Vacaville. Originally from Anaheim, California, he now lives in Dixon with his two sons Austin (13), and Hayden (10).
When Patrick’s older son Austin was 2 years old, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a childhood cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells.

Austin and his family spent the next 11 years in and out of chemotherapy treatments, beating the cancer into remission between ages 2 and 6, and then again after a relapse for Austin at age 9.
Full body radiation and bone-marrow transplant. His 2nd battle!
But Austin is a fighter! Inspired by real-life professional wrestlers, when Austin got knocked down he just kept getting up. Austin has been in remission (cancer free) since May 2012 and recently celebrated his 13th birthday.
Amazing! Way to go, Austin. We are so happy you’re now cancer free and healthy!
As Patrick told us: “I am honored and proud that the company I work for has a heart that is kind enough to look beyond the sales and into causes that parallel with health and fitness. I love that we are devoting an entire month to fighting cancer and am excited to be as much as a part of this as possible!
