Since I was 12 years old I’ve always struggled with gaining weight. As a little girl, the fast weight gain led to stretch marks on the backs of my legs and me becoming incredibly self-conscious getting in and out of swimming pools. Over the years, I tried several times to lose weight, but I never stayed dedicated to the routines and regimens.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been heavy. It wasn't until having two high risk pregnancies when I started to really pack on the weight.
I’m a mother of five children. It’s difficult for me to play with my kids standing at 4’11’ and 200 lbs. In October of 2014, I decided enough was enough and I was determined to make a change when it came to my health.
At 6' 7" tall, I was over 400 pounds. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and had been a Type 2 Insulin Dependent Diabetic for nearly 15 years. My future was definitely uncertain.
I struggled with weight loss for 10 years of my adult life. At my highest, I tipped the scale at 409 lbs. and was not happy with the person I had become.
