ZUMBA® is an aerobic fitness class that combines Latin-inspired movements with hip-hop and other international dances. ZUMBA® is becoming one of the most popular workout programs worldwide. The Birth of ZUMBA®

This fitness craze was created by Alberto "Beto" Perez in the early 90’s when he forgot his music tapes for his aerobics class. He grabbed his Latin music tapes from his car and improvised. He mixed his Latin inspired moves with aerobic exercises and changed the way we think about exercise


Calories Burned

You will be shaking off those calories; 360 and 532 is the average amount burned during one hour of ZUMBA®. You won’t even know you are burning the calories - it’s just that fun.


Filled with Culture

ZUMBA® has a lot of different cultural influences. The Latin American part of it includes salsa, merengue, cha-cha, cumbia, mambo, and samba just to name a few. Hip hop, reggaeton, belly dancing, flamenco, Bollywood and African are a few of the other cultural dances used in the workouts.


Type of Workout

ZUMBA® is considered interval training. The hour workout uses fast paced songs to get your heart rate working and slower songs for toning movements. Combining the two keeps your muscles and heart always guessing what’s next.


Get Certified

You can become a ZUMBA® fitness instructor and teach at one of our many locations. Become a licensed ZUMBA® instructor by attending one of the many ZUMBA® Instructor Training Courses. There are different courses for different licenses; ZUMBA® Basic, Aqua ZUMBA®, ZUMBAtomic® (ZUMBA® for kids), and Jump Start Gold.
