Cindy Reyes B/AI have always struggled with my weight when it came to my eating habits. It was like a roller coaster with my weight; I did not see the scale moving. I became so discouraged with my weight that I began to detach myself from functions, being around people, and even going out to eat. On April Fool’s Day of 2016, I was driving to work and I started to think to myself I had to change my ways in order to see a difference. I did not have a plan in place, but in my head I knew I was determined to make a change for the better.


When I decided to finally make a lifestyle change, I joined In-Shape and I began working out consistently. I began to see small changes, however, I eventually hit a plateau and became discourage with my lack of progress after the first month. After I was done making excuses and realizing that it was not going to solve the problem, I knew I had to remain focused. Everyday I would go to In-Shape: Downtown Stockton to do my workout routines on my lunch. When it came to my eating habits, I prepped my food for 2 to 3 days in advance.  I portioned my food accordingly and made sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day.


Within 3 months, I started to notice that I was swimming in my clothes. That’s when I started to have a smile on my face. It was a great feeling to get rid of half of my clothes and be proud of it! Since the 1st of April, I have lost 32 lbs. and it is such a relief. It may not seem like much at the moment, but my journey is far from over.


I want to thank my co-workers for the compliments during my transformation as it has been my ultimate motivation and encouragement.  Lastly, I want to give a big "THANK YOU" to In-Shape for giving me the tools to lead a better life. With their help, I have a more positive attitude and my determination to improve upon my new lifestyle has grown each and every day.
