Not only are our members inspirational, but the people that work at In-Shape are too. Today, we want to celebrate and salute one of our own, Eric Martin, housekeeping lead at In-Shape Antioch. Eric goes above and beyond to make sure the club sparkles for our members. But it’s not his success at work that we want to tell you about today, but his success working out!

Eric M

Eric grew up big and tried everything to lose weight, but he couldn’t keep it off. Seven days after his Dad passed away from cancer, he decided to join In-Shape to lose the weight for good. With the desire to make his Dad proud as motivation, Eric has lost 117 pounds since June last year!

Eric works out 5 days a week for 2-3 hours each day with a varied workout routine including running, weight lifting, and body weight exercises. This is in addition to the 12,000 steps he clocks during his shift! He watches his portion sizes, cut out soda and juice, eats small meals more frequently throughout the day, and sticks to a clean diet.

A couple weeks ago, he had reached a plateau and began working with one of our trainers who is helping him modify his diet and exercise routine to focus on muscle gain. His goal is to gain 30-40 pounds of muscle–a goal he never would have imagined a year ago!

Congratulations Eric! It’s an amazing accomplishment to lose and keep weight off. We are proud of your fitness journey, your hard work and dedication to your new lifestyle. We’re lucky to have you on our team.
