Whether you’re a newbie to smoothies or been around the blender block, you’re going to love this month’s recharge card recipe – the ultimate green superfood smoothie. It tastes divine! Plus, filling your tank with the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, protein and healthy fats in a green smoothie is one of the best ways to start your day.
Spinach packs an antioxidant punch while the monounsaturated fats in avocado will fill you up (so it serves as a solid meal). The dates and banana add a pinch of sweetness while the superfood green powder contains significant amounts of calcium, niacin, potassium, magnesium, B vitamins and iron. It also has essential amino acids (compounds that are the building blocks of proteins).
Blend the following to desired consistency and drink up!
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 2 cups fresh spinach, tightly packed
- 1 small avocado, pitted
- 1 frozen banana
- 3 dates, pitted
- 2 teaspoons of superfood green powder (we used a spirulina and chlorella mix)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt
