Seasonal food is produce you consume or purchase as close to harvest as possible, which means it’s tastier and fresher since the crops are picked at their peak ripeness. Plus, studies have shown that the longer the fruit or vegetable has to ripen on its parent plant, the more nutrients it is likely to have. So, it’s a win-win-win.

Luckily, we live in California where much of the produce is grown and it doesn’t have to travel far to go from the farm to our tables (=more nutritious and more delicious).
