Meet Dylan Maples. Northern California local. In-Shape Fitness member. Elite world-ranked mountain biker.
At just 22 years old, Dylan has already dominated the competitive biking world, building an inspiring resume of milestones he once dreamed about:
It wasn’t that long ago that he was still honing his skills on local trails and traveling and competing as a solo biker with limited support. With hard work, determination and plenty of grit, he climbed the ranks to the highest level of downhill racing, one of the most intense and demanding sports in the world.
So, how did he get there?
While the real magic happens on the tracks he races on, he credits much of his success to the training that takes place well before race days, in the club.
“The gym is a huge part of my training. It’s what keeps me strong and consistent.”
Dylan says strength, conditioning and recovery all play a critical role in his performance by building power to stay injury-free. Everything he does on the bike is supported by what he does in the gym.
Stories like Dylan’s remind us what our community is made of. Whatever goal you’re chasing, big or small, it’s achievable when you stay consistent and surround yourself with the right environment and people.
