Whether you’re working from home full-time or just trying to stay productive during your extra time at home, staying motivated can be a challenge. Feelings of anxiety associated with these uncertain times and the stress of new routines have left many people feeling groggy and unmotivated, which is a natural response. Be gentle with yourself (and don’t forget to practice self-care), and take your time trying out these tips to help you stay motivated all day long.

1. Schedule out your day
Write down your schedule the night before and set expectations with your family or roommates. If you need time to get work done or get your workout in, tell them! A little support goes a long way.

2. Plan the menu
Plan out your snacks and lunch so you aren’t grazing. This will also save time otherwise spent gazing into the fridge and pantry at the same items you had yesterday.

3. Get outside, get moving
Hitting an energy slump at the same time every day? Try to schedule that time to get outside on a walk around your neighborhood or do a virtual workout in your home. While you may crave a nap or shot of caffeine, moving your body will help pump you up to tackle the rest of the day.

4. Keep the fire burning
Spend at least 30 minutes each day focusing on your passion. This will help you feel reenergized when it comes time to go back to the monotonous stuff. If your passion isn’t something you can do during this time, find a relevant audiobook or watch videos on YouTube to learn more about your passion during your time away.

5. Have an attitude of gratitude
Write down 5 things you’re thankful for at the end of each day. Practicing gratitude is the best way to feel motivated to tackle the hard things in your day!
