VTL CLASS RULES + FAQS

VTL Training® is small group training reimagined. The 60-minute session is split up into two main working blocks made up of three different stations. You’ll work your entire body with cardio, strength, and core blocks plus a mindset and purposeful recovery session. You’ll train with intention and intensity whether you choose VTL: BOX or VTL: ROW for your cardio block.

The main difference is the cardio component of the class. In VTL: BOX it is boxing and in VTL: ROW it is rowing. In a VTL: BOX session, you’ll learn six fundamental punches that’ll increase your conditioning and build power before your strength and core blocks. In a VTL: ROW session, you’ll learn the proper rowing form to maximize results from this low-impact conditioning.

VTL is now available at Bakersfield Riverlakes, Bakersfield Seven Oaks, Bakersfield California, Bakersfield White Lane, Concord, Napa and Victorville. More clubs and markets will be added soon.

VTL Training® is currently included with all Local, Lifestyle, Lifestyle Plus or Ultimate Network memberships. Members can also add VTL Training® to their existing membership for $14.99 per member per month through the Elevate Package.

Active Members without VTL Memberships are issued two Access Passes to experience VTL. This is available to active members in a market where VTL is offered. The pass offers 2 sessions to try with 1 year expiration from the date of issue.

Membership changes at the club can take up to an hour to fully process. Online membership changes can take up to three days to fully process. If you would like to make a membership change for VTL Training® access, please contact Member Services or speak with a team member at the Welcome Desk.

If you received a VTL Training® trial, you will be able to book 2 sessions through the In-Shape app or Member Hub. Free VTL Training® access ends 1 year from the date of issue.

VTL Training® is currently included with all Local, Lifestyle, Lifestyle Plus or Ultimate Network memberships. All active In-Shape members over the age of 18 at clubs that offer VTL Training® will receive a free trial. Please speak with a team member at the Welcome Desk for further assistance.

BEFORE YOU TRAIN

For both training formats, be sure to arrive 5 minutes before class starts. If it’s your first session, the trainer will be available to meet you and walk you through training set-up.

For all VTL Training™ sessions, bring a water bottle, towel, proper training or running shoes, and wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t hold you back from your best training session yet.

For VTL: BOX™, you’ll need boxing gloves, which you can rent or purchase at In-Shape, and quick wraps, which you can also purchase at the club.

RESERVE YOUR SPOT

Reservations are required and you can make your reservation in the In-Shape app before your training session starts. Click here for instructions on how to make a VTL Training™ reservation in the app.

Members who cannot attend their training session are expected to cancel their reservation at least 2 hours prior to the session start time.

Be sure to arrive within the first 5 minutes of your session’s start time. Members who arrive later than the 5-minute grace period will be marked as no-show and may incur a no-show fee.

Members who cancel within 2 hours prior to their training session or do not cancel their reservation altogether will be considered a no-show.

A $2 no-show fee may be incurred if a member repeatedly misses their reservation.

*Members are issued two (2) free access passes to try VTL Training® at any of the In-Shape clubs offering VTL Training®. Passes expire 11/7/2023. The pass grants access to try VTL: BOX and/or VTL: ROW training sessions. Not valid for members under the age of 18. For new members, passes expire one year from date of join. Reservations are required. A $2 no-show fee will be applied if reservations are not canceled 2 hours prior.
